“[A] liquid ear cleaning solution is generally much more effective than wipes because dogs’ ear canals are quite long and narrow and actually have a right-angle shape.”

Step 2: Pick a Time When Your Dog is Calm

When your dog is calm, squeeze the solution into your dog’s ear and massage gently at the base of the ear for 30-45 seconds.

You may hear a “squishy” sound as debris and buildup dislodge.

Once they’re done shaking, take a cotton ball and gently wipe out the ear canal, careful not to go too deep.

  • Check your dog’s ears regularly after bathtime.
